THE EGRESS PROS® STORY
In 2013, Glen Dauman, a General Contractor on Long Island, went to watch his son, a volunteer firefighter, at a training event. Glen watched as his son trained in a smoke house basement fire simulation.
During this event, his son and others panicked and fell to the floor.
Glen started to analyze this situation. The good news is this was only a training event. The scary thought is:
What if the basement fire was real? How would my family get out? How would the first responders get in?
Unbeknownst to Glen (and so many others), there is a Federal Code—IRC code R310—requiring an emergency escape and rescue opening; in other words, an Egress Window System or Basement Walkout.
Motivated by this discovery and determined to make a difference, Glen and his son Alex began researching and developing solutions. Their mission was clear: bring code-compliant safety to basements across Long Island and beyond.
That vision became reality with the launch of Egress Pros®.
10 years later, Egress Pros® is the leader in egress windows, basement safety improvement, and professional Egress Window installation.
